Gonzalo Díaz , full name Gonzalo Lizardo Díaz Cúneo , (born April 14, 1966 in Fray Bentos ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Defensive player Díaz had belonged to the Montevideo Wanderers since at least 1985 and was in their squad in the Primera División from 1986 to 1989 .

National team

Díaz took part with the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship 1985 in Paraguay . The Uruguayan team finished fourth there. During the tournament he was used by coach Aníbal Gutiérrez Ponce six times (no goal).

He was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed three international matches between March 29, 1987 and his last appearance on June 19, 1987. He did not score an international goal. These three international matches include the 1-1 draw with Brazil on April 24, 1987, which is run as an Olympic qualifying game. With the "Celeste" he took part in the Copa America 1987 and won the title.
