Gonzalo Malán , full name Gonzalo Daniel Malán Arenas , (born April 8, 1988 in Nueva Helvecia ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.86-meter-tall offensive player Gonzalo Malán is the brother of the two professional footballers Cristian Malán and Mathías Malán . He moved in January 2012 from the Uruguayan second division club Sud América to Club Atlético Rentistas . There he played seven games (no goal) in the Primera División for the remainder of the 2011/12 season . In July 2012, he joined the Alvarado club in Argentina, playing in the Torneo Argentino A , and played there in seven league games (no goal) in the 2012/13 season. He was also on the pitch in two matches (one goal) of the Copa Argentina . He returned to Sud América in February 2013. After the club was promoted to the Primera División in the 2013/14 season, it was used there in 13 top division games and scored twice in the opposing goal. At the end of July 2014, he switched to the first division promoted Rampla Juniors on loan . In the Apertura 2014 he was used 13 times (seven goals) in the top Uruguayan league. At the beginning of January 2015 he was loaned out again by Sud América. The receiving association was CD Antofagasta from Chile . There he ran seven times in the Primera División and scored a goal. He was also used twice (no goal) in the Copa Chile . Another loan followed from July 2015. This time the host club was Santiago Morning . For the club from Santiago de Chile , 23 played ten games (two goals) in Primera B and two encounters (no goal) in the Copa Chile. At the beginning of February 2016 he returned to Sud América and appeared there seven times (no goal) in the 2016 Clausura. In July 2016 he moved within the league to Plaza Colonia and completed ten league games (three goals) and two matches (no goal) in the 2016 Copa Sudamericana in the subsequent 2016 season . He has been in the ranks of FC Birkirkara since 2017 . He was used in 13 league games (four goals) for the Maltese in the 2016/17 season.
