Goodbye to the Age of Steam is the first studio album by the English progressive rock band Big Big Train . The CD was released on May 31, 1994.
content
The songs on Goodbye to the Age of Steam are about everyday tightrope acts and partial crashes. The album title has no relation to the songs, but conveys the mood of the pieces.
style
Musically, at the time of their debut album, BBT showed themselves to be influenced by typical neo-prog bands such as IQ , Jadis , Galahad , and z. B. by Steve Hackett . A style of its own can be guessed, but not yet consolidated. The album received medium to positive reviews, although the vocals were often too thin.

The album cover was also redesigned by Jim Trainer, since the original by Kev Thompson was lost. Three bonus tracks complement the original songs, including a new composition.
