The Underfall Yard is the sixth studio album by the English retro-prog band Big Big Train . It was released on December 15, 2009.
content
The lyrics of the songs deal with stories and folk tales from England, especially from the Victorian period and the Edwardian era . In the song Winchester Diver z. B. celebrated the achievement of the diver William Walker in the rescue of Winchester Cathedral . At the center, however, is the 22-minute title piece, which is about the railway and port facility construction by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel .
style
Musically, the band on this album remains true to the retro prog influenced by Genesis and Yes , but also uses post-rock influences.
