The DG Trade GmbH , better known as Goodyear Dunlop trading systems (GDHS), is a franchise -Unternehmen for the tire trade with operational headquarters in Cologne and commercial law based in Hanau . The company is a franchisor for the three tire trading systems Premio Reifen + Autoservice , Quick Tire Discount and Trade Marketing Initiative (HMI) and has a total of around 1200 franchisees across Europe.

history

In 1976, Dunlop AG , based in Hanau, took over all shares in Holert Autobereifung Herbert Holert KG in Hamburg after being examined by the Federal Cartel Office . In September 1983 Dunlop sold its European subsidiaries to the Japanese Sumitomo Rubber Industries .

From 1982 onwards, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company had developed a support program for tire dealers under the name Kempen , from which the trade marketing initiative emerged in 1987 . From 1990 onwards, the Goodyear Reifen + Autoservice franchise system was established for the German market, followed by the "Quick tire discount" and the renaming of the brand from Goodyear Reifen + Autoservice to Premio Reifen + Autoservice 1996.

These four business areas of the two companies were combined in a joint venture in 1999 and subsequently merged under the umbrella of GD Handelssysteme GmbH , newly founded on September 1, 2003, under the umbrella of Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany GmbH .

In the following years, GDHS acquired further franchise partners in its three systems and gradually separated from the former Holert KG's own branches. In 2010 the company had 910 franchisees and operated 25 branches with 263 employees. The total turnover was 47.4 million euros.

In 2015 the joint venture was dissolved and the investments distributed. As a result, GD Handelssysteme GmbH became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

Quick tire discount

The "Quick tire discount" is designed as a tire specialist and tire service and focuses primarily on the sale of tires, rims and complete wheels. There are 60 partner companies in Germany.

Harry Wijnvoord has been the face of Quick Tire Discount since 2016 .

Trade Marketing Initiative (HMI)

The trade marketing initiative is a cooperation concept in which the companies keep their individual appearance, but benefit from the support services of the GDHS. These include marketing and IT. The HMI comprises 650 companies in Germany and Austria.
