Gora Vize ( English transcription from Russian Гора Визе Gora Wise , German 'Wiese-Berg' ) is a mountain in the East Antarctic Mac-Robertson Land . It rises about 3 miles southeast of Mount Kirkby in the Porthos Range of the Prince Charles Mountains .
Russian scientists named him. It is named after the Russian or Soviet climatologist and oceanographer Wladimir Juljewitsch Wiese (1886–1954), a pioneer of sea ice research .
