Gordon Jackson , QC (born August 5, 1946 in Saltcoats ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party . Jackson attended Ardrossan Academy and studied law at St Andrews University . Scottish Parliament

In the Scottish parliamentary elections in 1999 Jackson ran for the constituency of Glasgow Govan and won the mandate against Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP . As a result, he moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament . In the 2003 parliamentary elections Jackson defended his position. After all, Sturgeon won the 2007 general election . Jackson did not run for the 2011 general election .

It is reported about Jackson that the practice of his profession as a lawyer often caused temporal conflicts with parliamentary work. This earned him the nickname "Crackerjack". The reason for this is the timing for votes in the Scottish Parliament at 5 p.m. For various votes, Jackson did not appear in the Chamber until about 4:55 p.m., which was the regular broadcast date of the television series Crackerjack .
