Gorilla Biscuits are a hardcore band from New York City . They were founded in the late 1980s, are part of the straight edge scene and are among the most influential and successful bands in this genre. The band released the album Start Today in 1989 and then broke up.

In 2005, the former members of the group, as well as other artists, were asked by the operators of the CBGB club to play a show to help cushion the costs of a legal dispute for the club. As a result, the band got back together and went on a US tour 15 years after they split up in 2006 - the only album Start Today was re-released in a version expanded to include bonus recordings.

In 2007 the first European tour in 16 years took place. In spring 2016 the band completed another European tour together with Modern Life Is War , Touché Amoré and GWLT . In February 2019, guitarist Brown, who had previously suffered an aneurysm , passed away .
