Gorodki
Gorodki ( Russian городки - town (pl.) ) Is an individual and team sport that comes from Russia .
Game idea
The basic idea of the game is to use five wooden blocks ( Gorodki , "town"), which are built up to form certain figures, with a throwing stick ( Bita ) from a certain distance ( Kon , Polukon ) from their place ( Gorod , "town") to beat the demarcated playing field. The aim is to need as few attempts as possible.
There are women's and men's teams.
Gorodki in Germany
Karlsruhe is considered the "birthplace" of the Gorodki sport in Germany and has a facility suitable for tournaments. There are also other plants in Baden-Württemberg , Berlin , Hamburg , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Lower Saxony , Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia (as of 2016) .

The wooden blocks are set up in 15, sometimes 16, figures. These are gun ( пушка , pushka ), fork ( вилка , wilka ), star ( звезда , Swesda ), arrow ( стрела , strela ), wells ( колодец , Kolodez ), crankshaft ( коленчатый вал , kolentschatij wal ), artillery ( артиллерия , artillerija ), Bat ( ракетка , Raketka ), machine gun nest ( пулемётное гнездо , pulemjotnoe Gnesdo ), cancer ( рак , RAK ), Guardian ( часовые , tschasowje ), sickle ( серп , sERP ), shooting ( тир , tir ), airplane ( самолёт , samoljot ) and letter ( письмо , pismo ).
variants
There is a similar game in Finland, it's called Kyykkä . Immigrants from the Gulf of Finland area brought it to Sweden, where it is called Poppi .
