Gothic house (Gelnhausen)
The Gothic House in Gelnhausen , the district town of the Main-Kinzig district in southeast Hesse , was dated to 1351/52 according to a dendrochronological study. The half-timbered house at Kuhgasse 5 is a protected architectural monument .

The Gothic House is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Hesse. The two-storey house situated at the corner of Kuhgasse and Herlengasse has a basement and the northern firewall from sandstone . A high hall floor rises above it. The upper floor on bends protrudes far on two sides. The northern eaves side is supported by a wall. The corner posts are designed as hanging posts, every second ceiling beam is supported by a bow. The framework does not have any special decorative shapes. On the hall floor, the headbands are arranged in the gable-side external axes to form Gothic pointed arches . On the upper floor of the gable side, a ribbon of windows made up of coupled groups of three can be seen. The gable roof is provided with a slide .
