Samuel Landau plays the leading role of Rabbi Gindman . His wife Adela is played by Regina Kamińska. The actors were recruited from the Yiddish theater of Abraham Isaak Kamiński (1867–1918) in Warsaw.

Adela, a Rebbezen (Yiddish: wife of a rabbi) who has been seduced, leaves her unloved husband frivolously and is punished for this with the loss of her two children.

Individual evidence

  1. filmpolski.pl only gives H. Fiszer as Reżyseria , Skaff (p. 193) only gives Kamiński
  2. the authorship is not clear: filmpolski.pl and Haltof (p. 4) name the Yiddish playwright Jakob Gordin as the author ; IMDb and filmweb.pl name Zalman Libin (1872–1955); a drama God's Schtroff by this author is loud Amaury You Closel (p 108 n. 284) in 1910 in New York at the Hebrew Publishing Company published
  3. cf. Skaff p. 43
