Gottfried Albrecht von Bredow

Gottfried Albrecht von Bredow (* 1650 in Biskupice ; † July 25, 1730 in Peitz ) was the Prussian lieutenant general and governor of the Peitz fortress .

Life

He entered service in Brandenburg in 1667 and became a major in the Derflinger regiment in 1692. In 1694 he became a lieutenant colonel and took part in the fighting on the Rhine. After that became the commander of the electoral prince's regiment. On September 19, 1709 he was appointed major general. In 1715 he still took part in the Pomeranian campaign.

In 1719 he was given command of the body regiment ( cuirassier regiment No. 3 ) as the successor to Lieutenant General Wolf Christoph von Hackeborn . On May 22, 1719 he was appointed lieutenant general. On January 26, 1726 he was appointed governor of the fortress Peitz , where he succeeded the late Lieutenant General Andreas Reveillas du Veyne . He stayed there until his death in 1730.
