Gottfried Heine (born January 19, 1849 in Bödefeld ; † September 1, 1917 in Münster ) was a German teacher, musician and author.

Life

Heine was born in Bödefeld in the Sauerland in 1849 . During his school days, his Bödefeld teacher Josef Schmalohr encouraged him, especially in music and organ playing. After school, Heine attended the teachers' seminar in Büren , which he passed in 1870 with an emergency "well". Afterwards he worked as a teacher, organist and leader of the church choir in Bochum . On November 26, 1874, he married the daughter of the teacher Ignaz Gördes from Fredeburg . With her he had the sons Otto and Ewald and the daughter Mathilde.

In 1983 Gottfried Heine, who was a master on the organ, became a music teacher at the Paulinum grammar school in Münster. There he took over the school choir, founded a quartet, conducted a men's choir and organized concerts. After publishing the hymn book Liederkranz for the student youth , he also wrote two masses for schoolchildren. With the senior teacher Franz Alois Westrick, Heine later published an arithmetic book for higher and middle schools and with the teacher August Schallitz an arithmetic book for preschools.

Furthermore, Heine was an author in the Sauerland dialect, which was based on Friedrich Wilhelm Grimme . Until his death he headed the “De Suerländer” association in Münster. On October 12, 1909, he was appointed honorary president of the association. In the same year he received the Royal Crown Order IV class. Gottfried Heine died of flu at the age of 68.
