Gottfried Sieber

Gottfried Sieber OSB (born June 26, 1940 in Egling an der Paar ) is the emeritus abbot of the Sacred Heart Abbey of Inkamana .

Life

Sieber entered the Benedictine monastery of Sankt Ottilien and made his profession on September 25, 1961 . He was ordained a priest on September 4, 1966. In 1968 he went to the mission to South Africa , where he was pastor and secretary to the Bishop of Eshowe . On January 1, 1992, he moved to Inkamana Abbey. In 2000 he became secretary and chronicler of the Benedictine Congregation of St. Ottilien . On February 8, 2003, Father Gottfried was elected by the convent of the Benedictine Mission Abbey of Inkamana as second abbot and successor to Gernot Wottawah . On April 26, 2003, he received by Bishop Mansuet Dela Biyase the abbatial blessing . His motto is congregation in unum . Gottfried Sieber resigned from the office of abbot in February 2015.
