Gottfried Tollmann

Gottfried Tollmann (born October 26, 1680 in Lauban ; † March 6, 1766 in Leuba ) was a Protestant pastor and hymn poet .

The son of a tailor attended the Latin school in Lauban and then studied theology at the University of Leipzig . In 1711 he took over the parish office in Leuba near Görlitz .

He published his comfortable hymn book full of old and new sacred songs (Lauban 1719).

The song he wrote, “The harvest is now over, the blessing brought in” can be found in the Evangelical Hymn book under number 505.
