The Gotthold-Ephraim-Lessing-Gymnasium Kamenz has existed since August 1st, 2002 as the successor to the merger of the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium of the district of Kamenz and the urban Lessing-Gymnasium. According to plans, the grammar school is to move from Macherstrasse Kamenz to the building on Henselstrasse Kamenz in 2022.
