The house of God is a church belonging to the Kuratie Maria Birth , which includes the Homburg districts of Schwarzenacker, Schwarzenbach , Einöd , Wörschweiler and Ingweiler, and is consecrated or dedicated to the Mother of God at her birth. history

The history of the Kuratie Maria Birth can be traced back to the construction of the Wörschweiler Monastery in the 12th century.

The Catholics of the village of Schwarzenacker belonged to the parish of Bierbach as a branch parish since 1922 . At the end of the 1950s, Schwarzenacker wanted its own church. This was built between 1960 and 1962 according to plans by W. Focht, Regbaum and G. Helfrich. Until the death of the Bierbach pastor Riedel in 1970, Schwarzenacker continued to be looked after by the Bierbach parish Herz Jesu . Only then was the Curate of the Birth of Mary established.

The church building was subjected to a restoration in 1995, which the architect diocesan builder Heinrich Hartmann ( Speyer ) directed.

The Kuratie Maria birth forms since October 2006 the parishes of St. Corpus Christi in Homburg and Assumption in Kirrberg a parish community .

Architecture and equipment

The church building has a modern design. The building is cuboid with a lower, completely circumferential corridor. The bell tower with its characteristic pyramid shape stands a little apart from the actual church building . Inside the church, the walls in the upper area are designed with small, angular window niches. There is a Lady Chapel on the left.

In the tower there is a bell from 1756 by Christoph Klein, which is listed as an individual monument.

The church is equipped with a Misereor - Way of the Cross by the architect , sculptor and Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Maria Pérez Esquivel ( Buenos Aires / Argentina ) and a statue of the Virgin Mary in the Lady Chapel. In 1995, Karin Kremer ( Heckendalheim ) was responsible for the redesign of the window niches with pastel shades , and in the same year for the wall design and the redesign of the Marien Altar.
