Gottlieb Friedrich Bach
Gottlieb Friedrich Bach (born September 10, 1714 in Meiningen ; † February 25, 1785 ibid) was a German musician and painter who belonged to the Bach family of musicians .
Life
Gottlieb Friedrich Bach was the second son of Johann Ludwig Bach and his wife Susanna Maria Bach (née Rust). His marriage to Juliana Friderica Charlotta Bach (née Anthing) in Meiningen in 1751 resulted in three children. Gottlieb Friedrich Bach held the office of court organist at the Meininger Hof and from 1745 cabinet painter.
He portrayed his father Johann Ludwig Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach as well as members of the Meiningen ducal house and other Thuringian princes. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach also reported on a portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach , but nothing certain is known about it today.
After his death, his son Johann Philipp Bach took over his offices.
