Gottlieb Wernsdorf II (born April 10, 1747 in Danzig ; † November 11, 1802 in Wittenberg ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

Wernsdorf was born as the son of Gottlieb Wernsdorf I and attended high school in his hometown until he was 18. In 1765 he moved to the University of Wittenberg , where, in addition to other subjects, he mainly dealt with law for 4 years. After his candidate examination for notary on May 18, 1769, he gave legal lectures.

In 1771 he became an advocate at the court court and Wittenberg consistory, and the following year protonotary at the Wittenberg academy and court master of the son of the minister von Ende. On October 11, 1773, he received his doctorate in law, and on October 16, 1779, he acquired the degree of Magister in Philosophy and in the same winter semester as Magister Legens.

In 1783 he became an associate associate at the Wittenberg Faculty of Law and in 1788 he was appointed an extraordinary professor for feudal law, in 1790 the full professorship for institutions, in 1799 the chair for the digestum infortatium et novum and shortly before his death the chair for the dignestum veteris. Wernsdorf had been married to Christiane Elisabeth Strauss since 1774 and was the rector's office of the Wittenberg University in the summer semester of 1791 and 1797 .
