Gottlieb Freiherr von Ankershofen (born August 22, 1795 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia ; † March 6, 1860 there ) was an Austrian historian and state curator.

Ankershofen was director of the history association for Carinthia from 1844 to 1860 . From 1849 to 1860 he headed the archive for patriotic history and topography founded on his initiative . He was one of the authors of the “Handbook of the History of Carinthia” (2 volumes, 1841/59). From 1847 he was a corresponding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .
