Thank God Kopp

Gottlob Kopp (born August 31, 1895 in Waiblingen ; † May 26, 1970 there ) was a German master painter. From 1945 to 1964 he was President of the Chamber of Crafts in Stuttgart.

Career

Kopp comes from a long-established Waiblingen family. After attending elementary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a painter . After his journeyman and traveling years and the master's examination, he founded a painting business in Waiblingen in 1919.

In 1945 he was elected President of the Chamber of Crafts in Stuttgart. In June 1946 he was a member of the state constituent assembly for Württemberg-Baden and from November 1946 to May 1952 as a member of the Democratic People's Party (DVP) in the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden .

He was chairman of the working group of the Württembergisch-Badischen handicraft chambers and chairman of the health insurance for handcraft, trade and industry in Stuttgart. He was also a member of the Waiblingen municipal council from 1946 to 1959.
