Gräbendorf (Altdöbern)
Gräbendorf ( Grabice in Lower Sorbian ) was an independent municipality until 1928. From 1928 it became part of Reddern . It was completely emptied and demolished in 1989. Due to the premature expiry of the Gräbendorf open-cast mine , however, there was no use by the open-cast mine. 29 residents had to relocate.
location
The village of Gräbendorf was on the southern edge of the Gräbendorf opencast mine, today's Gräbendorfer See . Today there are boulders in the places where the courtyards used to be.
history
The first documentary mention can be found in 1423. From 1655 a manor house and an outbuilding have come down to us. In advance of the planned devastation , an intensive archaeological exploration of the districts of Gräbendorf, Laasdorf / Laasow took place from 1985 onwards . It was continued until 1992. The settlement finds range from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. The Germanic burial grounds discovered in the course of these explorations contained Roman grave goods.
In the first half of the 19th century, the village had the shape of a wide street. In 1923, 11 medium-sized farmers were named.
