The Gräbendorf opencast mine is a former opencast mine in the Lusatian lignite mining area in Brandenburg . It was named after the district of Gräbendorf in the town of Altdöbern in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district.
history
Development of the deposit began in 1979 and coal production could begin on September 28, 1984. The former power plants Lübbenau , Vetschau , Gaskombinat Schwarze Pump and the briquette factories in Lusatia were supplied with raw coal from this opencast mine. The opencast mine was closed at the end of 1992.
