Frank-Michael Malchow

Frank-Michael Malchow (born November 21, 1961 in Bad Doberan ) is a German graduate financial economist, customs officer and politician ( Animal Welfare Party and DIE FRAUEN ). From 2007 to 2010 he was one of a total of three equal “federal spokesmen” for the party DIE FRAUEN .

Life

Malchow completed his training for the higher service in the Federal Customs Administration with a degree in finance . Since 1993 he has been working as a teacher and expert for the Education and Science Center of the Federal Finance Administration (Directorate IX of the General Customs Directorate) in Berlin. There he teaches customs tariff law for customs officials . He is homosexual and lives in a partnership. He lives in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg . Malchow has been a vegetarian or vegan since 2001 .

politics

Malchow joined the Animal Welfare Party in 1999 . In 2001 he was elected third deputy federal chairman. In addition, he took second place in the list of his party at the time in the European elections in 2004 . In 2005 he moved to the newly created post of General Secretary before resigning from this post in the course of an internal party dispute. He was also the top candidate of the Animal Welfare Party in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2006 and in the simultaneous election for the Pankow District Assembly . In April 2007, he resigned from the party because he was of the opinion that it was structured too hierarchically and that the subject of animal welfare had become out of focus due to internal party disputes.

Thereupon he joined the feminist party DIE FRAUEN in July and became “state spokesman” for Berlin. At that time he was one of two male party members (internally referred to as "fellow women"). In October of that year he was elected to the national group of women spokespersons at the “Federal Co-women Assembly” - as the first man in party history. In this way he was one of three equal federal spokesmen alongside Monika Christann and Erika Riemer-Noltenius . He held this office until 2010. During this time he was responsible for the federal working group “Animal Rights and Consumer Protection”. For the 2009 European elections , he ran for the party's fourth place on the list, after a top candidate of his person had also been discussed at the nomination party congress.
