Grégory Duruz (born April 20, 1977 ) is a Swiss football player . The left-back won both the Swiss Cup and the championship in his career.
Career
Duruz comes from the youth of FC Sion and made his league debut for Sion in the 1994/95 season. After he could not immediately prevail at Sion after his youth, he played the second half of the 1996/97 season at SR Delémont in the National League B and the first half of the 1997/98 season at Vevey Sports in the 1st division . After returning to Sion, he was able to establish himself as a regular player from the 1998/99 season.
In 2002 he made a free transfer to league rivals FC Basel , with whom he celebrated the Swiss Cup victory in his first season and made a total of seven appearances in the surprise move into the second group stage of the UEFA Champions League . In 2004 he won the Swiss championship, but was mostly only a substitute player during the season. He then moved to the French second division club SC Amiens for the 2004/05 season , but only made 15 appearances there and dissolved his contract at the end of the season.
With the Swiss first division club FC Thun he found a new club, which he left after a year. With the New Zealand A-League club New Zealand Knights he found a new club and signed a one-year contract. Duruz made twelve appearances for the Knights and landed with the team, which was disbanded at the end of the season, on the bottom of the table. Due to the early end of the season in the Australian league, he was able to return to Switzerland at the end of January and made a few appearances for FC Chiasso in the second division. For the 2007/08 season he joined the third division club FC La Tour / Le Pâquier . In the summer of 2008, he completed a trial training at the English third division club Cheltenham Town , but was not signed.
