Position of Grünental

Grünental is a stop in Namibia on the Windhoek – Gobabis railway line . It is located on the farm of the same name . The breakpoint was put into operation in 1929. The railway line is in operation for freight transport. However, trains no longer stop in Grünental because passenger traffic on this route has been suspended. The B6 national road runs through the farm parallel to the railway . The B6 is part of the Trans-Kalahari Highway and leads from the capital Windhoek, 140 km to the west, through Gobabis to the Buitepos border crossing to Botswana .

The White Nossob flows through Grünental from northwest to southeast . The Rivier only reaches Grünental sporadically, as it is dammed 50 km upstream in the Otjivero main and secondary dam. The closest places to Grünental are Witvlei, 8 km to the east, and Gobabis, 58 km to the east . Grünental lies at 1470  m .
