Highway expansion

The four-lane expansion of the section from Windhoek to Hosea Kutako International Airport began on November 18, 2019. Construction phase 2A covers a length of almost 20 of the total of around 50 kilometers. In Windhoek, it connects to Phase 1A, the extension of the B1 national road , known here as the Western Bypass , in the Avis district and extends in the east to the intersection with the main road C23 to Dordabis . It should be declared as a motorway after the end of construction. The construction costs are given as 950 million Namibian dollars.
