Buitepos (in German about outpost ) has been a settlement with around 900 inhabitants in eastern Namibia since 2009 . Buitepos occupies the entire Sandfontein 468 farm .

Buitepos is the administrative seat of the Kalahari constituency and the Namibian border crossing on the border with Botswana . The border station on the Botswana side is Mamuno .

Buitepos has a police station, gas station and tourist accommodation.

Buitepos can be reached from Windhoek (and Gobabis ) on the B6 national road , which forms the Namibian part of the Trans-Kalahari Highway .
