The grave of John Ludwig ( English Grave of John Ludwig ) is a tomb in Windhoek in the Khomas region in Namibia . The grave of John Ludwig has been a national monument of Namibia since May 1st, 1967 .
The complex houses the grave of John Ludwig in a mausoleum as well as graves of numerous other people from the German past in today's Namibia. John Ludwig came to German South West Africa from Germany in 1892 and settled as a smallholder in Windhoek. He ran the Ludwigslust restaurant . He was considered an important public figure in the city. He was the first person to be buried in the small cemetery on March 1, 1913.
The Windhoek suburb of Ludwigsdorf is named after Ludwig .
