One of the two still preserved burial mounds in October 2014

The grave mounds in the Ennert are two prehistoric grave mounds in the Ennert forest in Bonn's Beuel district . The property is a listed ground monument according to §2 DSchG .

location

The hills are located in the wooded Ennert mountain range belonging to the Küdinghoven district, about 50 meters southeast of the intersection of the Ennertweg and Foveauxweg forest paths . The historic Foveaux house is 200 meters away, and the sports field in Ennert is just as far away. The Kommende Ramersdorf lies 800 meters south of the hill on the A 562 .

description

The two hills are unusually large; they measure 40 meters and 36 meters in diameter. There is a distance of 35 meters between the hills. They have not yet been examined archaeologically. It is conceivable that they come from the Younger Stone Age , the Bronze Age or the Latène Age. Due to the size and location, burials of socially distinguished people can be assumed. Other graves are suspected in the area.

The two hills are among the best preserved objects of this type in the Rhineland. The protected area is overgrown by forest. The northeast hill appears superficially excavated.
