Matia Kasaija

Matia Kasaija (born November 26, 1944 ) is a Ugandan politician of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), who has been Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development since 2015.

Life

After attending St. Marys College in Kisubi and the Ntara School in Mbarara in 1965, Matia Kasaija began studying economics at the University of Nairobi , which was then part of the University of East Africa , which he obtained in 1969 with a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm. ) completed. He then worked as a manager at Shell & BP Ltd. between 1969 and 1977 . and later from 1987 to 1990 as Managing Director of the Department of Finance's department for managing the assets of departed Asians DAPCB (Departed Asians Property Custodian Board) , before he was Deputy Director for Mass Mobilization in the Secretariat of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) between 1998 and 2005 .

After Kasaija from June 2006-2010 Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior (Minister of State for Internal Affairs) , he was served between June 2011 and March 2015 as Minister of State for Planning in the Ministry of Finance (Minister of State for Planning) . In March 2015, he took over the post of Minister of Finance, Planning & Economic Development in Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda's cabinet . In addition, he is a member of the parliament of Uganda for the NRM and represents the constituency of Buyanja County , which is located in the Kibaale district in the western region.
