Kibaale (sometimes Kibale ) is a district ( district ) in Western Uganda with 108,357 inhabitants. Like almost all districts of Uganda , it is named after its capital.
geography
Kibaale borders the districts of Hoima in the north, Kiboga and Mubende in the east, Kabarole and Kyenjojo in the south and Bundibugyo and Lake Albert in the west. The district extends on a central plateau with an altitude of 680 to 1500 meters.
climate
The climate is tropical with a relatively safe rainfall of between 1000 mm and 1500 mm. That is why there are at least two growing seasons a year. The rainy seasons from September to December and from March to May are offset by two dry seasons.

population
Based on the 2002 census, Kibaale has a population of 108,357 people in 2007. Of these, 53,844 (49.7%) are male and 54,513 (50.3%) female. The estimated growth rate is 4.1%.
Ethnicities and religion
Kibaale is a socially diverse district with more than 32 registered ethnic groups, but only half of the population is Banyoro . The rest are immigrants. About 60% are Catholic, 30% belong to the "Church of Uganda" and 3% are Muslim. As usual in Western Uganda, the district is predominantly rural - corresponding to the low population density of 26.6 inhabitants per kilometer.
Economy and Infrastructure
Agriculture
As in the other districts in general, agriculture forms the basis of income and livelihood and provides work for 80% of the population. The rest of them work mainly in livestock farming.
Traffic routes
In addition to some roads, air and waterways, the district is connected to the national railway line, which is currently out of service in the district. Kibaale has a network of 415 km of feeder roads and 600 km of municipal roads.
