Bugiri is a district ( district ) in Eastern Uganda on the shores of Lake Victoria with 426,522 inhabitants. Like almost all districts of Uganda , it is named after its capital.

In addition to the mainland, the Bugiri district also includes several islands in Lake Victoria.
