Pakwach is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Pakwach .

location

The Pakwach district borders in the west on the district Nebbi , in the north on the district Arua , in the east on the district Nwoya , in the southeast on the district Buliisa and in the south on the DR Congo .

history

The district was created in 2018 from parts of the Nebbit district .

Demographics

The population is estimated at 196,800 for 2020. In the same year, 14.6 percent of them lived in urban regions and 85.4 percent in rural regions.

economy

Subsistence farming and animal husbandry are the main economic activities in Pakwach District.
