Kyegegwa is a district in western Uganda . The capital of the district is Kyegegwa .

location

The district of Kyegegwa borders in the north on the district Kibaale , in the east on the district Mubende , in the south on the district Kiruhura , in the southwest on the district Kamwenge and in the northwest on the district Kyenjojo .

history

Kyegegwa District was established on July 1, 2009 by an act of the Ugandan Parliament. Previously, the district was part of the Kyenjojo District. The Kyegegwa District is part of the Toro sub-region, which is synonymous with the Toro Kingdom .

Demographics

The population is estimated at 441,000 for 2020. In the same year, 6.7 percent of them lived in urban regions and 93.3 percent in rural regions.
