Kiruhura is a district in western Uganda . The capital of the district is Kiruhura . The district is part of the historic Ankole Kingdom .

Demographics

The population is estimated at 185,700 for 2020. In the same year, 9.7 percent of them lived in urban regions and 90.3 percent in rural regions.

economy

Agriculture is the mainstay of the district's economy, as is most of the other regions in the country. Milk and meat are important products made in the district. In 2006 the district was estimated to be producing more than 100,000 liters of milk a day.
