Oyam is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Oyam .

location

The Oyam district is bordered to the north by the district of Gulu , in the north-east by the Pader District , on the east by the district Kole , on the south by the District Apac , in the southwest of the district Kiryandongo and the west by the district Nwoya .

history

The district was created in 2006 from parts of the Apac district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 453,700 for 2020. In the same year, 3.1 percent of them lived in urban regions and 96.9 percent in rural regions.
