Butambala is a district in central Uganda . The capital of the district is Gombe .

location

This district borders on the Gomba district in the west and northwest, the Mityana district in the northeast, the Mpigi district in the east and south and the Kalungu district in the southwest .

history

The Bukomansimbi district was created in 2009 from parts of the Gomba district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 107,800 in 2020. In the same year, 15.4 percent of them lived in urban regions and 84.6 percent in rural regions.
