Kiboga is a district in central Uganda . The capital of the district is Kiboga .

geography

The district of Kiboga borders in the northeast on the district Nakaseke , in the south on the district Mityana , in the southeast on the district Mubende and in the northwest on the district Kyankwanzi . The capital of the district is about 120 kilometers (by road) northwest of Kampala , Uganda's capital.

Demographics

In 1991 the national census estimated the district population to be 98,200. The census of 2002 estimated the population at 108,900 inhabitants, with an estimated annual population growth rate of 4.3 percent. In 2012 the population was estimated at 165,100.

economy

It is estimated that 80 percent of the county's workforce is employed in agriculture .

Administration and history

The district was established in 1991 . It is mostly a rural district and is crossed by a major highway that connects Kampala with Hoima , the center of Uganda's petrochemical industry. In 2010 the district was divided into two parts and the western part was established as a separate Kyankwanzi district .
