Kalungu is a district in central Uganda . The capital of the district is Kalungu .

location

The Kalungu district borders on the Gomba district in the north, the Butambala district in the northeast , the Mpigi district in the east, the Masaka district in the south and the Bukomansimbi district in the west .

history

The Kalungu District was created in 2010 from parts of the Masaka District.

Demographics

The population is estimated at 194,100 for 2020. In the same year, 20.2 percent of them lived in urban regions and 79.8 percent in rural regions.
