Namisindwa is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Bupoto .

location

The Namisindwa district is bordered to the north by the district Bududa , to the east and south by Kenya , on the southwest by the district Tororo and the west by the district Manafwa .

history

The district was created in 2017 from parts of the Manafwa district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 231,500 in 2020. In the same year, 7.3 percent of them lived in urban regions and 92.7 percent in rural regions.
