Alebtong is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Alebtong .

location

The district is bordered by the Otuke district to the north, the Amuria district to the east, the Dokolo district to the south and the Lira district to the west.

history

The district was created in 2010 from parts of the Lira district.

Demographics

The population is estimated at 266,100 for 2020. In the same year, 3 percent of them lived in urban areas and 97 percent in rural areas.
