Serere is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Serere .

location

The Serere district borders the Soroti district in the north, the Ngora district in the east , the Pallisa district , the Kaliro district and the Buyende district in the south. The Kaberamaido district is west of the district.

history

The district was created in 2010 from parts of the Soroti district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 359,500 for 2020. In the same year, 9 percent of them lived in urban regions and 91 percent in rural regions.

economy
