Ibanda is a district in western Uganda . The capital of the district is Nsiika .
location
The Buhweju district is bordered to the west and northwest on the district Rubirizi , in the northeast on the district Ibanda , on the east by the district of Mbarara , to the southeast by the District Sheema and on the southwest by the District Bushenyi .
history
Buhweju once formed a small kingdom that was ruled by an Omukama . It was incorporated into the British protectorate of Ankole in 1901 .
Demographics
The population is estimated at 144,100 for 2020. In the same year, 4.6 percent of them lived in urban regions and 95.4 percent in rural regions.

economy
Most of the workers work in agriculture. The Buhweju district has proven reserves of gold, lime and wood.
