Lwengo is a district in central Uganda . The capital of the district is Lwengo .

location

The Lwengo district is bordered by the Sembabule district in the north, the Bukomansimbi district in the northeast , the Masaka district in the east, the Rakai district in the south and the Lyantonde district in the west .

history

The Lwengo district was created in 2010 from parts of the Masaka district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 290,500 in 2020. In the same year, 10.7 percent of them lived in urban areas and 89.3 percent in rural areas.
