Kamuli is a district of Uganda and is located on the right bank of the Nile . According to the 2002 census, Kamuli has 712,079 inhabitants on an area of ​​4301.5 km². The main town is the eponymous Kamuli . The district formerly belonged to the Kingdom of Busoga .

89% of the population belongs to the Basoga , other groups are Bagungu , Iteso , Baganda and Samia .

It borders on Lake Kioga in the north , the adjacent districts are clockwise in the north beginning Soroti , Pallisa , Iganga , Jinja , Kayunga and Lira .
