Namayingo is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Namayingo .

location

The Namayingo district is located on the equator and Lake Victoria . It is bordered to the northwest by the Bugiri district , to the northeast by the Busia district, and to the west and southwest by the Mayuge district .

history

The district was created in 2010 from parts of the Bugiri district.

Demographics

The population is estimated at 237,000 for 2020. In the same year, 7.3 percent of them lived in urban regions and 92.7 percent in rural regions.

economy
