Pallisa is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Pallisa .

location

The Pallisa district borders in the north (from west to east): Serere District, Ngora District, Kumi District and Bukedea District. The Mbale district is in the east. The Budaka District is in the southeast, the Kibuku District in the southwest and the Kaliro District in the west.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 353,400 in 2020. In the same year, 12 percent of them lived in urban regions and 88 percent in rural regions.

economy

Subsistence farming and animal husbandry are the two main economic activities in the district. Fishing is also important.
