Omoro is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Palenga .

location

The Omoro District is bordered by the Gulu District to the north, the Pader District to the east, the Oyam District to the south and the Nwoya District to the west .

history

The Omoro District was created in 2016 from parts of the Gulu District.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 196,400 in 2020. In the same year, 11.8 percent of them lived in urban regions and 88.2 percent in rural regions.
