Namutumba is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Namutumba .

location

The Namutumba district bordered on the north by the District Pallisa , in the northeast on the district Kibuku , in the southeast of the district Butaleja , the south by the District Bugiri , in the southwest of the district Iganga and in the northwest on the district Kaliro .

history

The district was created in 2006 from parts of the Iganga district.

Demographics

The population is estimated to be 306,500 in 2020. 7.4 percent of them lived in urban regions and 92.6 percent in rural regions in the same year.
